A Visonary of Light Design

We’ve got some new items at HORNE this week—among them, a new light design by Southern Lights Electric. The lamp is created with a brushed nickel light socket, and aged wood base, glass dome and twisted cloth covered cord.  We think it looks best with an Open Filament or Edison style bulb (not included). Here’s a peep at the Bell Jar, which we absolutely adore.

All Southern Lights Electric products are made by hand in Nashville, Tennessee.  The attention to detail makes each piece a high-quality work of art.  Plus, each lamp is dated and stamped, giving you a truly unique fixture.  Adam Gatchel, the owner and founder of Southern Lights, was featured in the July 2012 issue of a local Nashville publication—Native.  You can check out the full article here.

Gatchel was the drummer for a Nashville-based pop band for five years before he decided he needed a change.  The transition from musician to selling his lamps was slow at first—he did both, selling his products on Etsy.com.  As of last November, he made the commitment to fully devote himself to light design and officially became Southern Lights Electric Company.  We’re proud to offer a number of Southern Lights products—check them all out on the HORNE website!
